The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has on Saturday denied the report that it is planning to kill the Rumphi east Member of Parliament (MP) Kamlepo Kaluwa as he claims.
Kaluwa told the media that he is receiving death threat from the DPP members who include the MP for Chikwawa west Kennedy Maluwa and Kamangira in Nsanje.
He said he is having evidence which include the WhatsApp messages.
“They cannot deny that, I have strong evidence. One of it is from MP WhatsApp forum messages where honorable Maluwa and Kamangira said ‘andikonza’ meaning they will kill me,” Kaluwa disclosed.
He said the DPP want to use their party machinery which include the cadets.
“They want to kill me because they said I am shaming their leader (President Peter Mutharika) for telling him to fire his seven cabinet ministers named in the plundering of K236 billion of the public,” he disclosed.
The vocal MP however said he is ready to die for the truth.
In his response, Maluwa trashed Kamlepo saying his reaction on the WhatsApp was against his claim that DPP is doing nothing and not concerning cashgate matters.
“I was commending government for the development it has done in my area such as the construction of the Chapananga Bridge but Kaluwa said there’s nothing that DPP is doing in the country and it’s when we exchanged those words,” said Maluwa.
DPP spokesperson Francis Kasaila described Kaluwa as somebody who is trying to Garner attention for himself by the same antics he has used in the past. He is just a cry baby looking for sympathy.
“Kamlepo is not a threat to us as DPP; he is saying that in order to gain sympathy from Malawians. He was challenged in 24 hours to give the names of the concerned Ministers to the President but he failed,” said Kasaila.
Kamlepo claims he cannot name the concerned Ministers because he is restricted by the law.
Some of the Ministers implicated according to social Media rumour mill, in the K236 billion cashgate include Minister of Agriculture George Chaponda as well as Minister of Labor Henry Mussa among other.
