MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Workers at the civil aviation department in the country have vowed to continue with their industrial action until the government responds to their concerns.
The workers who have been on strike since last Monday, have said their department is just playing hide and go seek games on their concerns.
One of the workers said: “What is happening at the civil aviation department is that workers who are under the department are on a sit in. This sit in started last Monday. We presented our petition at the Office of President and Cabinet on 26 May, but from 26 May up today, there is nothing tangible on the ground.
“The department of civil aviation and the Ministry of Transport are just promising, so what we are looking for is not promises; we are looking for solutions and answers.”
The representative of the concerned workers also disclosed that the sit in is taking place in all the major airports in the country, namely: Chileka International Airport, Kamuzu International Airport, Mzuzu and Karonga Airports.
However, Spokesperson in the Ministry of Transport, James Chakwera, has said that government is doing everything possible to respond to the concerns of the workers.
