Chazama: things are not the same as the were

By Donata Mpochela

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-– Resurrected music star Dan Chazama has teamed up with local Dancehall artist Kapadocia on his latest released titled ‘Georgina’.

The traditional Reggae star has dated himself by incorporating the high-tempo vibes from the Lilongwe-based afro-dancehall star, who has provided a different complexion to the composition.

Done in reggae Dancehall beat, the song take a love theme in which the prontagonist is lavishing his love for his love life, he is also wound up by the beautiful behavior that she displays always.

‘Georgina tawuona moyo wakowu. Georgina moyo osililikanso, chikondi changa chasefukiranso pa iwe’…goes part of the song which was recorded at CL Touch Studios in Area 25, Lilongwe by Viwe Chibwana.

In an interview, Chanzama said the music landscape is changing fast, therefore, it is important for artists to adapt to new styles so that they can stay relevant and in touch with the dynamics of the industry.

“Things are not as they were when some of us were starting out a few years ago. We should admit here that if we have to keep up with the current generation, we need to raise our game at all levels. I am happy what came out of the combination,”he said.

Chazama said the latest single, whose video has also been released is a continuation of his efforts to reclaim his spot in the local music sphere, after being in the local music sphere, after being in hibernation for years.

He said of the song:”Love is always a good thing and it needs to be celebrated. In this song, it is all about Georgina who has won my heart. I am sending a message to the world of what true love needs to be like,”Chazama said.

On his part, Kapadocia said working with someone who does a different genre provided him with an exciting challenge.

“Artistically, it is always good to try yourself out in different situations. But what we got at the end was a good product and I am sure fans will love it,”he said
