MMethiwa Primary School receives 69 desks from TNM winner of Ufuluat50 Promotio

MMethiwa Primary School in the area of Traditional Authority Kapichi in Thyolo district has become the latest beneficiary of TNM’s life-changing Ufulu@50 Promotion after receiving 69 desks through a TNM customer, White Harry. 

Harry a form III student at Blantyre Secondary School open is one of the 50 TNM customers that won a total of K100 million in the Ufulu@50 promotion that TNM conducted in 2014 to celebrate with Malawians as the country commemorated 50 years of Independence. Each of the winners was required to choose a social responsibility project of choice worth K2 million, translating to K100 million.

 

 

Harry chose to buy K2 million worth of desks to MMethiwa primary school to give pupils at the school a new lease of life and inspire them excel.

 

He thanked TNM for this initiative which has seen a lot of people benefiting from the community project component of Ufulu @ 50 Promotion.

 

“On behalf of people from this community, let me commend TNM for this initiative which has not only benefit individuals but even the communities,” he said.

 

Harry expressed optimism that the desks will go a long way in creating good learning environment especially for a girl child.

 

 Deputy headmaster for the school Petro Chikopa said the school which has enrolment of over 1220 pupil’s lacks desks.

 

“We had only 60 desks against 1221 pupils and TNM has started the ball rolling for other well-wishers t to come and assist but as the school we are really grateful,” said Chikopa.

 

TNM’s Head of Blantyre Region David Nyirenda said the handover of the desks to MMethiwa Primary School demonstrates company’s commitment in fulfilling its promises to customers.  

 

“This is a life-changing promotion as prizes are going to worthy causes that will go a long way at community level. The current prize presentation phase demonstrates TNM’s commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility and meeting its obligations under Ufulu@50 promotion,” Nyirenda said.
