Botswana President Boko jets in Malawi, holds bilateral talks with Chakwera

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Botswana President Duma Gideon Boko on Saturday, July 5, 2025 arrived in the country through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in Lilongwe for a three day state visit.

Upon arrival, President Boko was welcomed by Malawi’s Vice President Dr Michael Usi, Minister of Trade and Industry Vitumbiko Mumba, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nancy Tembo and other senior government officials.

President Boko went straight to Kamuzu Palace where he received Malawi Defence Force (MDF) guard of honor.

Thereafter Boko entered into private meeting President Lazarus Chakwera on bilateral talks

The two leaders are expected to grace Malawi’s 61st Independence Day Celebrations on Sunday at Bingu National Stadium in the capital Lilongwe.
