Thyolo man commits suicide after wife donated MK12,000 piecework earnings to church

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-A 45-year-old man Rex Kondwani on Wednesday, hanged himself in a church in Thyolo after his wife donated to the church their piecework earnings.

Masambanjati police officer-in-charge George Kaleso says the incident happened at Muwalo village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Changata in the district.

“The couple did some gardening piece work and were paid MK12,000 which was kept by the wife. Yesterday, when Mr. Kondwani asked for his share, the wife told him she had donated the money to their local church,” he said.

Kaleso adds that an argument broke out between them before the deceased was found hanging to the roof of the prayer house.
