UTM leader Chilima political address on Zodiak masked as COVID-19 concerns

Saulos Chilima is making an address on Zodiak Radio station as leader of UTM. The address was promised to start at 7:30 pm Malawi time

Petulant Saulos Chilima unhappy that his advice was not followed and acknowledged by government and thus instead of being discouraged he is determined to forge on.

Saulos Chilima acknowledged that COVID-19 was real and asked for unity in fighting Coronavirus. he prayed for those who have lost lives.

Saulos Chilima claimed that Malawians do not trust Malawi Government on handling and messaging of Coronavirus. However, he forgot to mention that it is his supporters and his reactions that created such an environment.

He asked The Malawi government to include the opposition in handling the COVID-19. Even though he is making a political address on a friendly radio station.

He made claims of an overwhelmed health system, even though he is part of this government.

He commended government for increasing allowances and asked government to make them permanent since health workers deal on continuous basis with other health issues.

In a veiled trolling of government, Saulos Chilima implied Malawi Government responses we copied from others but should be original ideas from within.

Saulos Chilima spoke on the lockdown and the injunction that was sought by HRDC supporters. He however acknowledged that lockdowns have been effective in other countries, but Malawi needs to take other considerations such as the poverty faced by many in the country who can survive in a lockdown.

He accused Malawi government of not following the constitution in enforcing the Coronavirus guidelines and using the Army and police for their benefit.

He reminded Malawians that he is a candidate in the upcoming elections.
