2 Nigerian men arrested for possessing drugs worth over N51 million in India

India police arrest 2 Nigerian men with drugs worth over N51 million near Bhagmane Tech park in Byappanahalli.

The Bengaluru East division police confirmed the arrests in a statement.

The Lailanews report indicated that the two were arrested while trying to sell the narcotic substance roadside tea stall in the city.

 According to police report, the accused have been living in Bengaluru for the last couple years and have not produced their legal passport and visa yet.

The duo who have been identified as Donchucks Okeke aka Tam Tam Dominique, 39, and Celestine Anugwa aka Omema, 40, disclosed that they procured the drugs through Darknet from the United Kingdom in order to sell them at high price during Christmas and New Year rave parties.

 Police also seized a high-end car from them apart from the drugs.

This comes few weeks after Indian woman and a Nigerian man were arrested in Delhi with 10.5kg of amphetamine, a narcotic drug worth Rs 10 crore in the international market while trying to board a train from New Delhi railway station for Bengaluru.

Drug abuse in India is prevalent and in recent months, India police arrested a number of people involved in drug smuggling across the country.
