LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)– In Malawi Admarc workers say failure for the dissolution of Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC ) Board, they will embark on sit this Monday 30th of May.
In a statement signed by ADMARC Workers Union chairperson John Hassan and Vice Secretary Memory Kanyenda, the workers say they are against the decisions being made by the board in the name of restructuring the corporation.
Kanyenda said the seat in is expected to continue until government bow down to their demands.
“In the 19 months board presence, ADMARC has had four General Managers, a situation which they describe as retrogressive for the parastatal,” said Kanyenda
She said workers have since demanded government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, to act on the board.
The industrial action is coming hot on heels of suspension of the former General Manager Rhino Chiphiko over the purchase of a vehicle which some termed extravagant.
