(MaraviPost): It is being reported that outspoken MCP Spokesperson Jessie Kabwila survived in a road accident on Friday near Dowa turn-off. This coming two weeks after Speaker of the House Richard Msowoya killed a bicyclist last week in an accident the Malawi Police failed to investigate vigorously and claim the Speaker to not have been at fault.
The same reports say that Kabwila’s vehicle was hit by a car that belongs to Anderson Engineering having made several driving techniques to avoid a moving truck ahead.
It is said that the vehicle hit her car from behind and later forced her into the truck, which later sped away leaving Kabwila’s car with the Anderson Engineering truck damaged at the scene.
Jessie Kabwila claims she was on her way home after she went to attend a funeral when another vehicle hit her car, causing the damage.
“Lucky enough I was unhurt it is the car that has been damaged, I am fine and am really grateful”; Said Kabwila.
Jessie Kabwila further hailed the police for coming in quickly for their professional work and some MP’s for coming at the scene.
“Police rushed to get statements and some members of parliament were of great assistant especially Honourable Beatrice Mwale and some MCP members”; Added Kabwila.
The Malawi Police did not comment on the condition of the Outspoken MP whether she was impaired or not. There was also no mention on the state of the other driver.
As usual we see half measured investigations and Malawi Police ready to give drivers a clean bill of health at a scene of an accident.
