BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Police in Balaka are keeping in custody woman and her two children for allegedly assaulting and parading another woman naked.
The suspects were arrested following a disturbing video clip that has gone viral on social media showing the three assaulting and parading the victim.
According to reports, the suspect, identified as Rosina Matewere paraded the victim naked in the street for suspecting that she (the victim) was allegedly having an affair with the suspect’s husband.
The police statement signed by National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzera, indicated that Police inquiry on that matter took place last Sunday February 13, 2022 in Sosola Village Traditional Authority Nsamala in Balaka District.
The statement further said the victim was severely assaulted and paraded naked which is a gross misconduct on the decency of womanhood.
Meanwhile, MPS has implored Malawians against the use of inhumane measures including physical abuse on individuals they are not in good books with,and that those indulging in the malpractice shall face the full wrath of the law.
The suspects will answer charges of Assault, Insult the Modesty of a Woman and Theft.
