BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Political leaders in the country have been urged to emulate the life of the late Muhammad Sidik Mia who was known for his unwavering dedication to work and remarkable generosity.
Moses Kunkuyu, Minister of Information and campaign director for the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), emphasised the leadership qualities during the Sadaqa Memorial Prayers at N’gabu in Chikwawa District.
“Today as we are celebrating the life of late Sidik Mia, we are also celebrating the lessons he taught us. Late Mia was a man who dedicated his life to aiding those in need,” said Kunkuyu.
Kumkuyu was accompanied by Local Government Minister Richard Chimwendo Banda with other party lawmakers.
As part of the memorial, the Mia Family distributed maize to families affected by hunger at Misewu folo and Jombo in Chikwawa.
Mia passed away on January 12, 2021. Until his demise, he held the positions of Minister of Transport and Public Works and Vice President of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
