BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)—Malawi’s TNM Super League defending champions Nyasa Bing Bullets collected three points on Saturday after beating the Lilongwe based stars Epac FC two goals to nil.
Bullets, whose performance in the last three games angered the supporters, scored through Chiukepo Msowoya who claimed a brace after displaying superb performance. The win has pushed the Blantyre giants on 9 points, 6 points behind the league leaders Blue Eagles.
In Mzuzu, Mzuni FC sent a strong warning to Super League giants that they are no longer underdogs but a team capable of grabbing the title by holding Lilongwe based side Silver Strikers to a goalless draw. The ‘Bankers’ played purposeful football but the ‘Green Intellectuals’ were equal to the task.
It was a tight game which saw supporters of both sides watching with bated breaths as it was hard to predict the outcome. Despite both sides showing hunger for goals the game ended with nothing to write on the score board.
The result has seen Mzuni maintaining its second position with 10 points while Silver has moved to position six, two steps up the ladder, with 7 points.
Elsewhere, Moyale Barracks beat Civo United 2-1 at Civo Stadium to maintain third position and Azam Tigers moved to position five on the log table after humiliating the Zomba based soldiers Red Lions with three goals to nil.
