In Mchinji, the ROO Mr Dennis Banda & the Officer incharge Mchinji, Mr John Nkhoma both SACP, trudge off the pitch after greeting the two football teams

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Commissioner of Police responsible for Central West Region (CWR), Emmanuel Soko has launched a crime prevention master-plan aimed at curbing trending crimes within the stations under his command.

This week, the commissioner has visited Dedza Police Station on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 and also delegated the Regional Operations Officer (ROO) Dennis Banda, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) to undertake a safety and security awareness meeting on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in Mchinji.

In Dedza during the morning hours, Commissioner Soko unveiled the newly-built sanitation facilities which include bathrooms and toilets valued at MK10. 5 million donated by Saint Louis High School, reflecting the Police-Community relations in the district.

Afterwards in the afternoon hours, he held a lecture to Police officers whereby he encapsulated several topics on murder, mob justice, suicide, discipline, smartness and dedication to duty.

Said Commissioner Soko: “We can achieve more results as a winning team. Let us maintain and improve our partnership with members of the general public”.

The Officer in-charge for Dedza Police station, Mwizamose Nyoni, Assistant Commissioner of Police, presented crime and traffic statistics for the station.

On the other hand in Mchinji, the Commissioner CWR engaged Blue Eagles Football club as a tool for crowd pulling at Waliranji trading centre.

The ROO Banda SACP, speaking on behalf of the Commissioner CWR, echoed the message on suicide, murder and mob justice.

Said ROO Banda SACP: “Let us be on the watch for unscrupulous traders during this Affordable Input Programme (AIP) roll out. We should also ensure that drowning cases are not recorded this year”.

In the same vein, the Officer in-charge for Mchinji Police station, John Nkhoma SACP, underlined the impact of Blue Eagles in mobilizing the community and dwelled on similar crimes affecting the district.

In a match played against Waliranji United, Blue Eagles triumphed by 3 goals to nil.

According to the Commissioner’s diary, the tour and activities are part of his familiarization schedule since assuming the CWR mantle recently.

The next stations to be visited include Ntcheu, Kawale, Lingadzi, Kanengo, Lumbadzi and Lilongwe, in that order.
