LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera on Thursday evening, March 21, 2024 offered dinner to Malawi National football, The Flames ahead of four nations tourney kick off.
The tournament which Malawi is hosting in the capital Lilongwe has attracted teams from Zambia, Kenya and Zimbabwe.
President Chakwera while addressing players and teams at the presidential dinner for the teams participating in the Four Nations Tournament, said it was an honour for the First Family to have dinner with football powerhouses from the Sadc region and has since wished the teams all the best.
“I and the First Lady feel honoured to break bread with football royalty from the region. Football connects and breaks barriers among nations.
“Football unites people of different backgrounds as they share joy and sorrow. Through this tournament we are strengthening our partnership with other nations who we do business with,” he said.
The tournament has just started today with U-21 teams that will end on March 26, 2024.
