MZUZU-(MANA)-President Lazarus Chakwera says his administration will turn around the outlook of Mzuzu City if given another mandate through the ballot on September 16, 2025.
Chakwera was speaking at a whistle stop rally at Area 1B Market in Mzuzu City, on Friday.
Chakwera, who is also presidential candidate for Malawi Congress Party (MCP), said the party’s manifesto includes plans to construct double lane highways and flyovers in Mzuzu City.
“We want to give Mzuzu a better look befitting a city. We have already started development projects in the city, including construction of Mzuzu Youth Center which is nearing completion, and a sophisticated library at Mzuzu University.
He urged people in Mzuzu to vote for him on September 16, 2025, so that his administration should complete development projects already initiated by his administration in Mzuzu City and across the country.
“During my administration, the country was hit by various disasters including cyclones, COVID 19 and the worst cholera outbreak the country has ever had, however, we have still been able to lay a solid foundation for development,” he said.
MCP shadow Member of Parliament for Mzuzu City North Constituency, Mafumu Mkandawire, urged people to vote for Chakwera, saying he is a caring and development oriented leader.
