Chiefs in Lilongwe, Traditional Authority (T/A) Tsabango have expressed optimism over a pre-development plan that has been established in the area.
One of the chiefs, group village headman Kandodo says there are a number of developmental activities that have been set aside to ensure that the pre-development plan is achieving intended goals.
“We have joined hands with youths in this area to develop our area through a number of things such as renovating roads, bridges and school” he says.
The revelations were made recently when Malawi Human Rights Youth Network conducted a civic and awareness meeting with an aim of finding ways of developing the country at community level through the established development plan.
In his remarks, Project officer for the organization, Michael Mpelembe called on people in the area to be committed in developmental activities for the benefit of their livelihoods.
Mpelembe says it is a responsibility of every Malawian to take part in development hence a need to join hands in different activities.
The civic and awareness meeting was conducted with funding from National Democratic Institute.
