Chilima takes ‘Tonse Alliance’ to Ntcheu District

Saulos Chilima: MCP-UTM alliance running mate

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)–Vice President Saulos Chilima who is also Lazarus Chakwera’s running mate in the Tonse Alliance was on campaign trail yesterday conducting whistle stop rallies in his home district—Ntcheu.

Chilima addressed people at Ntcheu Boma, Kampepuza and Tsangano.

Speaking at Ntcheu Boma, Chilima urged the gathering to vote for Lazarus Chakwera saying that is the only way of liberating themselves from Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leadership that is so rooted in corruption, nepotism, regionalism and tribalism.

“I urge you to vote for Lazarus Chakwera in the forthcoming election. If you vote for this Tonse Alliance, you have voted for development that will be distributed evenly across the country. This country belongs to us all,” said Chilima.

Chilima also asked the people to remain vigilant against any rigging attempts by the DPP-UDF alliance.

He furthe challenged that the opposition alliance is geared to win the forthcoming elections regardless of the date which the elections will be held.

“We will vote on any day they want. Whether it’s June or 2 July we are winning the election,” Chilima told the gathering.

Chilima has also spoken out against the ruling DPP for claiming it won the disputed elections, telling supporters that if the party had won the elections, it wouldn’t have abandoned Everton Chimulirenji, President Peter Mutharika’s running mate in the disputed elections.

Chimulirenji also hails from Ntcheu District just like Chilima.
