BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima’s UTM party continues to loose key members making hard to sustain its political prowess.
This follows the fire-brand the party’s Blantyre Urban District Governor Charles Mkoloma who resigned from his post and endorsed concerned citizens demonstrations being undertaken across the country led by Bon Kalindo.
In his resignation letter addressed to the party’s Regional Governor, Mkoloma says, his exist is with heavy heart because of the sacrifice he made for the party, wooing supporters to vote for Tonse Allowance which has now put them into troubles and sufferings.
He says, he apologizes to all Malawians for being part of the team that promised Malawians the moon only plough their own field.
” I tried to stay out in the party but my conscious can no longer absorb this bitter pill, because Malawians are economically hit left, right and centre.
To my fellow district members, I say ndaliona dzanja likulemba khoma hence my decision. To the party leadership, I say God is seeing and the same people you have abandoned today shall haunt you in 2025.
Finally, I endorse the concerned citizens demonstrations being undertaken across the country led by Hon Bon Kalindo,” says Mkoloma in a letter.
Currently, renowned UTM’s leaders are stepping down from their positions in the party on various reasons, at first, was Jessy Kabwira who resigned from the party and joined academic duties at Malawi Institute of Management (MIM).
