BEIJING-(MaraviPost)-Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in China for a high-level summit with President Xi Jinping, signaling a further deepening of ties between Beijing and Moscow, just days after US President Donald Trump’s visit to Beijing.
The visit highlights the growing partnership between China and Russia, with the two nations seeking to expand their cooperation in areas such as energy, trade, and technology.
Xi Jinping welcomed Putin with a red-carpet ceremony, emphasizing the importance of their relationship in maintaining global stability.
During the summit, the two leaders are expected to discuss a range of issues, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, tensions in the Middle East, and the global economic situation.
Putin’s visit comes at a time when China is seeking to assert its influence on the world stage, and Russia is looking to strengthen its alliances in the face of Western sanctions.
The meeting between Putin and Xi is also seen as an opportunity for China to demonstrate its commitment to a multipolar world, with the two leaders expected to call for greater cooperation and reduced reliance on the US dollar.
The two countries have already signed over 40 cooperation agreements, covering areas such as energy, infrastructure, and artificial intelligence.
Xi Jinping has praised the strong strategic partnership between China and Russia, stating that their relationship is at an “unprecedented level” and serves as a major stabilizing factor in the international arena. Putin has echoed these sentiments, highlighting the importance of their cooperation in promoting global peace and security.
The visit has also sparked speculation about the potential for a shift in the global balance of power, with some analysts suggesting that China and Russia are seeking to create a new international order that is less dominated by the United States.
