LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Deputy Minister of Education Nancy Chaola Mdooko on Saturday, June 3, 2023 challenged institutions of higher learning on embracing Open Distance e-Learning (ODeL) model of teaching.
Mdooko was speaking during African Bible Colleges (ABC) graduation in the capital Lilongwe.
she urged education institutions to leverage on the just launched EdTech Coalition and embrace ODeL approaches in higher education.
The minister also appealed institutions to align their curricula to Malawi 2063 Agenda.
She applauded ABC for doing this already and for enrolling more female students.
Deputy Minister encouraged them to keep on demonstrating the same level of hardworking spirit and discipline that has qualified them to graduate in their respective academic fields, and to have character.
One of the graduating students McArthur Mauleti, who graduated with a degree in Mass Communication, said he feels fulfilled and excited, ready to get into his public relations and media field.
In her speech, ABC Vice Chancellor Dr Maggie Madimbo said the college that opened its doors in 1976, continues to contribute immensely to the country’s development.
The ceremony that was held at ABC grounds attracted people from all walks of life who witnessed 133 grandaunts being conferred with First and Masters degrees in various academic disciplines.
