HARARE-(MaraviPost)-Very Ironic! President Lazarus Chakwera on Monday, April 5, 2021 had to defied his own words on “Buy Malawi Campaign” by hiring a multi million worthy cake from Zimbabwe meant for his birthday that falls today.
This comes barely two weeks President Chakwera made an appeal to Malawians on embrace buying products made in the country.
But surprise to many, Chakwera as usual ordered a birthday cake from a Zimbabwean lady worthy thousands of Kwacha when able Malawians would prepare the same cake at cheaper price.
In a twitter , Minister of Shurugwi, @tamiswa_njovana lauded Zimbabwean Tatenda for making a good birthday cake for Chakwera.
“Our very own Zimbabwean.. Tatenda called upon to make the President of Malawi’s birthday cake. She is young, vibrate and her gift is making way for her. It’s worth celebrating,” reads the twitter.
President Chakwera is slowly loosing Malawians trust for unable to meet people’s needs; just raised fuel, electricity and cooking oil prices, basic needs Malawian use daily.
Chakwera’s lip services must not be taken seriously.
