DRC national arrested in Dowa for insulting police officer

The Malawi Police in Dowa are keeping in custody  a 42 year old man from Congo who insulted them after he was asked to show them his travelling documents.

According to report the police officers were patrolling around Dzaleka camp when some people informed them about the truck they were suspecting has carried illegal goods and instantly the police officers rushed to the scene.

After arriving on the scene the police asked to check the vehicle but the owner Started insulting them saying that he was offloading timber and nothing else.

The report further said that he does not fear police  officers especially those from Malawi because he has witnessed a lot of Malawian soldiers who die like chicken in his home country.

The police then arrested the man right away.

“Using the power from the constitution we have really arrested the man from Congo on 9th November because he was insulting us and he will appear in court soon to answer charges of insulting police officers”, read part of the Dowa police report.
