LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Dedza TNM Super League outfit, Dedza Dynamos have on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 signed a one-year MK100 million lucrative sponsorship with the world’s leading gaming company, Premier Bet Malawi.
The signing ceremony of the deal took place at the company’s head office premises in Limbe, Blantyre.
Speaking after the signing of the deal, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President, Fleetwood Haiya who attended the auspicious event said, the deal is in line with the transforming the game agenda.
“I am very excited today and first and foremost let me send my sincere gratitude to Premier bet, as you are aware the company and FAM partnered to help our affiliates, starting with SULOM and you know what happened.
“This is why we are encouraging clubs to go into commercialization at the same time consider the issues of governance, they should make sure that there is clear ownership of the team in doing so as FAM, we will make sure that each club gets sponsors.
“The coming in of Premier bet has brought in a vibe with the corporate world that they are now believing in football. This gesture will definitely attract other betting companies to invest into the game”, says Haiya.
Dedza Dynamos General Secretary, Kondwani Wiseman Banda was filled with joy.
“We are very excited and grateful as Dedza Dynamos, as you might be aware, we commenced this season without sponsors and the future was uncertain. The coming in of Premier Bet is our joy and let me take this opportunity to thank FAM and SULOM for their efforts to land this lucrative deal.
“We have to sit down with our supporters and other stakeholders within the club to share some notes on governance and ownership”, said Banda.
The Premier Bet Chief Executive Officer, Trevor Whitaker disclosed that the deal will see the company getting the naming rights, kit branding among others.
The contract is an open ended as long as the club stays in the league next season.
The club will now be called, Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos.
In the deal, player of the month will be getting K100,000, player of the year will get K500,000, fan player of the year will get K500,000 and the supporter of the year will get K200,000.
Dedza Dynamos are sitting on 13th position on the table with 3 points from 4 games, having drawn 3 times and lost once in the opening games of the 2024 season.
