LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The football association of Malawi (FAM) in conjunction with the Charity Shield Sponsor NBS Bank on Thursday, March 28, 2024 unveiled this years’ kits for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers.
The unveiling ceremony took place at Bingu National Stadium in the capital, Lilongwe where the mouthwatering match is anticipated to take place between the country’s two heavyweights, Bullets and Silver.
Speaking to journalists, Football Association of Malawi Marketing and Broadcasting Manager, Tulipo Mwenelupembe said they are ready as FA to host the match at Bingu national Stadium on Saturday.
“Everything is in place,agreement with the teams is done and they are ready to showcase superb performance on Saturday.
“The unveiling of the kits excites us as FA because this is one of the things we agreed with our sponsor NBS Bank.Let me urge all Malawians to come and fill the Stadium to patronise the match”, explains Mwenelupembe.
NBS acting head of marketing, James Chikaonda says they are expecting big crowd at the Stadium on Saturday with great performance from the two good sides in the country.
“We have partnered FAM for over two years now and our goal is being achieved as in 2022 and 2023 we saw the FA reaching to Cyclone Anna and Freddy victims.This year money realized from the match will be channeled to construction of sanitation utilities in Schools within Lilongwe.
“We are expecting good match and huge crowd at the Stadium. On match day we are also going to have customer engagement activities just to hype the tempo of the game”, said Chikaonda.
The Silver Strikers Chief Executive Officer, Patrick Chimimba who represented the team at the unveiling ceremony hailed NBS bank for the beautiful Jersey saying this will motivate the players ahead of the clash against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
“As Silver Strikers we are very excited for the Jersey we have received from NBS Bank.The team is ready as we have added few players and I think the 2024 season is going to be funny and very competitive.
“Our friends won all cups last season but that’s for the past from Saturday we are starting new season,as Silver Strikers we are ready to compete and make name for ourselves”, Chimimba said.
His counterpart, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets General Secretary Archibald Kasakula also thanked the Caring bank for the Jersey ahead of their battle against the Central bankers.
“What excites us more is the fact that we are participating in activities which are aimed at uplifting lives of needy people in the country.
“As a club we are equally ready for the match and let me appeal to all our supporters across the country to come and support the initiative”, laments Kasakula.
The ceremony on Thursday started with a parade with the trophy from the Lilongwe’s Gate Way Mall to Ntandile township where tickets for the match were also being sold.
The revenue that will be realized from the match on Saturday will be channeled to the construction of sanitation utilities in Schools within the Capital, Lilongwe.
