Fire guts Maneb warehouse in Zomba spokesperson claims examination results safe

BLANTYRE(MaraviPost)—Barely two days after the Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) released the Junior Certificate of Education and Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education examination results, the warehouse of the board has been destroyed by fire.

The cause of the fire, which started around 1 pm on Thursday, is yet to be established.

Speaking to ZBS MANEB spokesperson Simeon Maganga said the fire has completely destroyed the warehouse.

He, however, dismissed fears that the fire might affect the Malawi School Certificate of Education examination results which are yet to be released.

“The fire hasn’t affected the MSCE examination papers. The examination papers were not kept in that house and people should not be worried. If all goes well, we will release the results soon,” said Maganga.
