LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Dr. Bruce Munthali has set his eyes on Lilongwe City Mlodza Constituency seat as a shadow Member of Parliament (MP) for Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)— having served as Chief Executive Officer at Tobacco commission for more than six years and Board Chairperson of Higher Education Standards body, National Council for Higher Education.
He also served as as National Coordinator of OVOP, a Japanese Concept for export-led community industries.
On Sunday, March 2, 2025, Dr. Munthali was warmly welcomed by the constituency governor, constituency committee, and area committees.

As a seasoned leader, Dr. Munthali boasts an impressive resume, having served all the post independence Presidents of Malawi, former President late Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda, Dr Bakili Muluzi, late Dr Bingu Wamutharika, Dr Joyce Banda and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
During his welcoming remarks, Dr. Munthali pledged to bring about meaningful developmental changes to the constituency, emphasizing the need for collaboration to address pressing issues such as poor roads, inadequate school infrastructure, and limited access to laboratories and digital technology in Community Day Secondary Schools.
His vision for the constituency includes promoting entrepreneurship and job creation, particularly among youth and women, to foster self-sustainability.
Dr. Munthali stressed the importance of equipping youth and women with skills in various areas, such as small-scale manufacturing of value-added products.
Two ward councillors, Tsabango Ward shadow councillor Miss Zebunisser Kunje and councillor for Kaliyeka ward, also presented themselves to the committees.
With his experience and commitment to development, Dr. Munthali is poised to make a significant impact in the Lilongwe City Mlodza Constituency.
