Former Mangochi central constituency parliamentarian Victoria Kingstone arrested over alleged election plot

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Victoria Kingstone, the former Member of Parliament for Mangochi Central Constituency, has been arrested in connection with an alleged plot to undermine the recent parliamentary elections in the area.

According to information obtained by Maravi post online publication,Kingstone is accused of orchestrating efforts to disrupt the electoral process, specifically targeting the successful candidate, Roza Fatch.

The police in Mangochi’s Makokola area also detained Sanudi Sande and Asiatu Amani yesterday.

Both individuals are believed to be involved in the conspiracy.

During questioning, Sande and Amani admitted to their involvement and revealed that their actions were directed by Kingstone.

Authorities have confirmed that Kingstone remains in police custody as investigations continue.

Amina Tepani Daudi, the spokesperson for Mangochi Police, verified the arrests but withheld further details, stating that more comprehensive information would be released once the investigation is complete.

This incident has raised concerns about the integrity and security of the electoral process in Mangochi Central Constituency.

The police are intensifying their efforts to uncover all individuals involved in the alleged plot to ensure justice and uphold democratic principles in the region.
