
LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Unicaf University has offered a full bachelor’s degree scholarship to one the students who won its Essay Competition.
Yohannes Chikufenji a former student of Mlare Seminary is a lucky students who wrote the best essay titled “How Education of international quality helps to reduce youth unemployment in Malawi”.
The scholarship enables Chikufenji to study at Unicaf University Malawi for a bachelor’s degree of his choice for a period of four years.
Apart from this, the university also offered free windows 10 tablets to the two runners up James Fanuel Richards formerly of Michiru View Boys secondary school and Ian Mchuchu.
The three were offered different scholarships on their studies at this prestigious institution that is establishing itself as the best online and face to face university in sub Saharan Africa.
According to one of the organizers of the event the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Unicaf University Malawi Dr. Robert Ridley about 54 entries were submitted.
Consequently, a panel of five judges headed by Dr. Kamlongera formerly of Unicaf University selected the best essay that showed creativity, originality and addressing the set title that was given to guide the students.
Unicaf University Vice Chancellors Professor Joseph Kuthemba Mwale said this is part of the institution’s corporate social responsibility to assist students who fail to join universities due failure to raise tuition fees.
Speaking on behalf of fellow participants, the full scholarship winner, Johannes Chikufenji thanked Unicaf University for the generous scholarship which will assist him to realize his dream.
Chikufenji is yet to make a choice of bachelor’s degree programmes ranging from Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Computer Science, Economics and Business, Hospitality Management just to mention but a few.
Recently, Unicaf University Malawi also offered six full scholarship master’s degree to the best secondary school head teachers in Malawi during the world teacher’s day cerebration that was presided by the Minister of Education Science and Technology, Dr. Susuwere Banda.
