LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Private owned Gy Imports and Exports has donated K500, 000 towards the Malawi National Netball Team, Queens local camping a head of the quad Series netball slated for the United Kingdom next month.
Making the donation on Saturday 25th January 2025 in Lilongwe, owner of the company who is also the owner of Brave hearts Basketball teams, Griffin Kalua said in Queens team there are also four players who plays for his ladies basketball team namely; Joyce Mvula, Takondwa Lwazi, Ruth Kaliyenda and Chifuniro Moses hence every time he is approached by NAM for the financial support he is obliged to help.
“I am a sports man and business is tough right now but as GY Imports and Exports we are a supporter of women sports and we needed still needed to do something to help in preparing the Queens”, said Kalua.
This is not the first time GY Imports and Exports is reaching out to the Queens as last year’s camp, the company bought first aid drugs.
Netball Association of Malawi General Secretary, Yamikani Khungwa Kauma hailed the company for the support which will be channeled to the players local camping allowances.
” We are very excited with this donation from GY Imports and Exports and it will play a great role in as far as local camping is concerned”, Kauma echoed.
The Queens will be leaving on 27th January 2025 for the United Kingdom where they are anticipated to lock horns against the host; England, South Africa and Uganda (The Cranes) in Quad series netball Championship.
