Netball World Cup2023: Malawi Queens bounce back to beat Scotland in opener

CAPE TOWN-(MaraviPost)-Malawi National Netball team, the Queens on Friday night, July 28, 2023, came from behind to beat Scotland 55-49 in their first Group B match of the Netball World Cup in South Africa.

A rare combination of exports Mwawi Kumwenda and Joyce Mvula worked the magic in the final quarter as they slowly but surely closed the gap before finally winning by six baskets.

Although the queen won the game but strangled in first and second quarters in Scotland which is ranked 10 in the world in netball.

The Queens which are ranked 6th in the world today, July 29, 2023, at 18:00 hours, face England which is in the top four of the world netball ranking.
