Netball WorldCup2023: Malawi Queens stumble against England

CAPE TOWN-(MaraviPost)-Malawi national netball team, the Queens on Saturday evening, July 29, 2023, failed to pull a surprise against giant England’s Rose as they faced defeat at the end of the game, 39 to 62 baskets.

The Queens displayed well in the first quarter at some point were at par with England but lost focus in the subsequent quarters for a defeat.

England which is ranked four in the world, has always been beating the Queens last evening’s game was a test again for the title challenge but nothing worked.

After the defeat, numerous reasons emerged that goal shorter Mwawi Kumwenda refused to play after Joyce Mvula got injured.

According to reports, Kumwenda refused to play till the end of the game which contributed to the Queens’ defeat.

The Queens’ defeat means are second in Group B with England on top.

Malawi Queens face Barbados today, July 30, 2023, in the last group stage while England meets its baby sister Scotland.
