LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-After calling upon Malawians to vote for the President Lazarus Chakwera’s Tonse government through back to back demonstrations,Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) expressed doubt in the administration saying has more corrupt senior officials than anticipated.

HRDC chairperson, Gift Trapence told news conference in the capital Lilongwe on Wednesday that government should stop the selective justice as everyone is above the law.

Trapence said the coalition is very saddened with the Tonse government as it is betraying Malawians by failing to fulfill the campaign promises.

He said government should create the prosecuting agency to help the speeding up of cases in our country courts.

Trapence added that there is state capture and lack of decisive action against perpetrators of corruption.

He call upon the prosecution agencies not to apply selective justice regardless of the status of the suspects

Asked whether Malawians should continue trusting the coalition, he condemned those that use the coalition to get their own benefits.

He said HRDC is not in support of Amnesty decision by the Attorney generals decision as it has not been effective in other countries.

Trapence therefore call upon better collaboration between the offices of Director of public Procurement (DPP),Attorney General (AG) and Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) that there is seamless and more concerted.
