LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Smt. Droupadi Murmu of India has arrived in the country for a three-day State Visit.
Her visit follows an invitation by President Chakwera who will host a State Banquet at Kamuzu Palace in honour of President Murmu on Friday, October 18th, 2024.
Among others, the two leaders will hold bilateral talks aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries.
It is a first-ever visit by an Indian Head of State to Malawi after also visited Algeria and Mauritania.
According to information shared by Malawi government, the Indian leader is expected to engage with industrial leaders, the Indian diaspora, and visit sites of cultural and historical significance including the signing MoUs on Youth affairs, sports, and culture.
Upon arrival, President Murmu was welcomed by Vice President Dr. Michael Bizwick Usi among other senior government officials.
