Jessie Kabwila has what is called “foot in mouth disease”. Where one speaks before you think. And sometimes, it gets her trouble…real trouble, Like the time she demanded Malawi President Peter Mutharika to consider cabinet reshuffle and drop Kaliati, saying her conduct will “decampaining him.” Jessie Kabwila insulted Akweni further by suggesting that Kaliati need to go for “an IQ check.”
Since the stand-off with Bingu WA Mutharika, Jessie Kabwila-Kapasula who was the acting president of the Chancellor College Academic Staff Union has been a thorn in the backside of the Mutharika’s.
Since turning politician and mouth piece for the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Jessie has embarrassed the Party so many times and has been testing the leadership skills of Lazarus Chakwera who was forced to take to the papers to deny the rumours about the big schism in the party and its future.
After President Mutharika took a bloated delegation to the UN, Jessie Kabwila had a lot to say.
‘If at all there are refresher courses for presidents who are non-performers, we recommend President Peter Mutharika to attend,’ Jessie Kabwira, MCP Spokesperson.
James Mwangalli a known DPP Sympathiser on his Facebook pages observed the following of Jessie Kabwila:
“Watching Jessie Kabwira, Spokesperson of MCP, on ZBS Television last night, as she was responding to the President Peter Mutharika’s press conference held earlier, I was immediately gripped by a sense of hopelessness.
I was like here is the oldest party on the land, a party that prides itself in being the most experienced in government affairs and yet its Spokesperson is here embarrassing the party, advancing nothing but sarcasm, pomposity, know it all, rudeness, and sadly the whole talk show empty just as it was devoid of any tangible issues that Malawians can associate with.
Does the MCP really believe that its Spokesperson is indeed representing what the party stands for? Is Dr. Lazarus Chakwera really happy with this, considering his background as a Man of God? Does the MCP really believe it can win over the support of Malawians by being sarcastic?”
Jessie Kabwila does take freedom of speech to its limit.
