Malawi Police arrest Bon Kalindo for trying to hold legally sanctioned demos

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Police Service (MPS) on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, arrested political activist Bon Kalindo for trying to hold peaceful demonstrations in Lilongwe.

The arrest comes despite the court allowing Kalindo to hold demonstrations.

Kalindo alongside Redson Munlo planned demonstrations against President Lazarus Chakwera’s Tonse Alliance administration for failing to fulfill promises made to Malawians in 2020.

Kalindo planned to hold demos at Kamuzu Palace, the state house gate in the capital Lilongwe.
