LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Police is alleged to be shielding cashgate suspect Kettie Kamwangala.
One of the cashgate suspects Kamwangala is still not re-arrested following the ruling by Judge Fiona Mwale which gave directions to the case.
Kamwangala is boasting to those locked at Maula prison telling them that she is untouchable and that those baying for her arrest are just wasting their time.
In her ruling Judge Mwale directed that the state should revoke the bail which was granted to Kamwangala because she was failing to appear for court hearing.
The judge noted that the suspect put much interest of her affairs than attending to the trials.
In her ruling, the judge said Kamwangala failed to appear before court without proper justification and procedures.
“Emergencies will always arise but when going out a person on bail has to ensure all necessary steps are taken to ensure that they avail themselves for trial by filling emergency application forms,”
The judge Fiona Mwale said failure to attend trials follows some penalties and such penalties include forefeiture of bail.
But since the judgement, and subsequent issuance of Warrant of arrest, no one has touched her.
Failure to be arrested has brought gossip on social media with some people alleging that she bribes the officers.
One can easily believe the gossip since nothing has happened since the court order to revoke her bail.
In the case, 43 of 2013, Kamwangala is being accussed of siphoning Millions of Government money through what was commonly known as cashgate and she is being represented by Lawyer Yankho Maele.
The law enforcers therefore should explain why the conduct of shielding the suspects.
