BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-After missing out on Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) last month, a Malawian film ‘The Beautiful Hen Behind the Yao Mountain’ has made it into two international festivals.
The two are southeast film festival in New York, USA, and the detective in Russia.
Movie director Imran Shabani said the submitted film reached semi-finals.
Shabani added that the recognition is a consolation for failing to win at AMVAC.
He disclosed that he was yet to establish the prizes but said the trophies are there.
Shabani was set to start working on his next project, whose progress has been halted by the coronavirus (Covid-19) global pandemic.
He said his team has been failing to even meet and have rehearsals amid a series of government’s restrictions on public gatherings and travel
He then expressed optimism about the forthcoming project, saying its completion will depend on how the Covid-19 situation is in the country.
