MACHINGA-(MaraviPost)-Students from Machinga Teachers Training College have paraded the District Education Manager (DEM)’s office demanding immediate retracting of their fellow students who were suspended from the campus.

According to reports, the students were suspended for allegedly leading their colleagues in boycotting classes on Monday in attempt to force management to pay their outstanding monthly teaching allowances for November and December 2019.

This angered their fellow students who were at the DEM’s office on Friday to present a petition demanding the immediate recall of those students who were suspended.

However the college’s principal, Edith Sipanala, said the students were suspended for being found drunk on campus premises which is against school rules.

Meanwhile, police officers are patrolling the DEM’s office waiting for his arrival.
