In a rare kind of gesture, a well known musician, Patience Namadingo, on Friday, February 28, 2020 surprised the police and M1 road users at Tsangano turn-off in the central district of Ntcheu when he left guitars and started painting the police office.

Disembarking in his white Nissan Tiida wearing a dust coat, carrying tins of paints, roller brushes, and electrical materials, police officers at the check point thought he was there on a music video collaboration mission with the police as he is widely known lately.

But, Namadingo, was on a different mission this time around, renovating the police office as a way of appreciating to the tireless services officers provide to road users involved in road accidents.

Speaking in an interview with Maravi Post Namadingo said he was once involved in a road accident about a kilometer away from tsangano and the police rushed immediately and assisted him.

“They towed and kept my vehicle here for two days without asking for something, this is the time I saw the inside and outside condition of the office”. Namadingo said.

The musician continued to say that he felt duty bound as a responsible citizen to come in and assist with little he has.

The musician, who accompanied a team of electricians, painters and other professionals, painted the inside and outside walls, fixing and replacing electricity materials, and bought office furniture among others.

Officer Incharge for Ntcheu Police Station Obrey therefore lauded Namadingo for a rare generous gesture.

“I am humbled that some people can appreciate our services in this way, this is very commendable indeed”. Nyirenda said.

Namadingo has been his same old self, creative and confident.
