Strikers FC casts its net wider for outstanding coach

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Central Region based football club, Silver Strikers, has cast its net wider in a bid to upscale its commercialisation and rope in a better coach following the end of three-month contract of its former coach, Albus Makawa, last season.

According to Silver Strikers FC Board Chairperson, Chiku Kalilombe, the Club has invited more competent coaches who will undergo rigorous interview next week.

Although, Kalilombe did not come out clearly on the exact number of coaches who are invited to the interviews, a well placed source has confided in the paper that at least ten coaches have shortlisted for the job.

“We have invited those applicants who applied and qualified for the job. Of course, I cannot clearly say how many they are in number, but the interviews will take place somewhere next week,” Kalilombe said.

Besides hiring a new coach, Silver Strikers will get on board new goalkeeper trainer, commercial manager and Chief Executive Officer for the team.

Silver Strikers FC missed an opportunity to cart home MK20 million richer when it lost 4-0 to Blue Eagles in the Semi-finals of FISD Challenge Cup.

In the TNM Super League, the Club finished on position 4 with 53 points.
