BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-A Student from Malawi Institute of Management (MIM) Paul Ngwira through his giving back to the community campaign has joined the global force in the fight against Corona virus.
Using his personal resources Ngwira made a donation of Covid-19 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that include hand washing soap, hand washing buckets, Thermometers and face masks at Chimwankhunda and Zingwangwa primary schools in Blantyre.
Speaking during the donation at Chimwankhunda Primary school recently, Ngwira said Covid 19 fight needs collective efforts and he made the donation to support government effort in ensuring that both learners and teachers are Covid 19 free during school.
“As a citizen of this country and as someone who was born and raised in Zingwangwa township, I know that I have a huge responsibility in my community, that is why I decided to come in my personal capacity to make this donation which I believe will make the difference.
“We need to ensure that both learners and teachers in our schools are in a safe environment, free from Covid 19 and that assurance needs to come from everyone including us young people,”he said
Further Ngwira said the donations costed him over K1,000,000 and emphasized that he is geared for more charity works whenever resources allow.
However, being someone who was raised up by a grad mother, he has also announced the special Christmas party that he has organized for the elderly in Zingwangwa scheduled to take place on 19th December.
In his remark, Chief Sizzo Zingwangwa expressed gratitude and thanked Ngwira for taking such an initiative to the community that brought him up saying it is rare to see young people who are able to look back where they are coming from.
Zingwangwa said; “the spread of corona virus needs to be contained by all means and further appealed for more support on the same saying the schools in his area have more learners and they don’t have adequate sanitary equipment”.
