BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) board has not renewed Director General John Bizwick’s contract.
Bizwick’s contract has expired, marking the end of his tenure at the helm of the authority.
A communique from the MRA Board, signed by Chairperson Vizenge Kumwenda, confirms that Bizwick has left the authority following the expiration of his contract.
According to Kumwenda, Executive Director for Corporate Affairs Agnes Katsonga Phiri has also left MRA as her contract has also expired.
He has since stated that the board will soon fill the two vacant positions in line with the MRA Act.
Meanwhile, the contract of Deputy Commissioner General Henry Ngutwa has been renewed, ensuring continuity in the authority’s leadership.
President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to appoint new MRA director general.
The development comes also barely weeks after Malawi Human Rights Commission (MHRC) launched sexual harassment probe at MRA.
