Mzika Coalition party launches its manifesto

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Mzika Coalition party on Friday launched its manifesto in preparation for the September 16 general elections.

The party’s president Christopher Chiomba presided over the manifesto lauch at a rally in the capital Lilongwe.

Regarding education, Chiomba stated that if elected, his administration will review teacher salaries, which he claims are significantly lower than those of neighbouring countries.

He expressed concern that the current monthly salary of K180,000 is inadequate given the rising cost of living.

He also said his government will hold parents accountable for ensuring their children’s school attendance.

Furthermore, he stated that his government will not tolerate inadequate learning conditions, and will ensure sufficient classrooms are built.

Finally, Chiomba stated that his administration will prioritize training more teachers in special education methods to support students with disabilities.
