LILONGWE (MANA)—People’s Party (PP) Vice President for the Centre Uladi Mussa has blasted as false allegations that he was bitter for not being appointed as the party’s Presidential running mate in the May 20 tripartite elections.
Mussa who is also Home Affairs Minister was speaking at Mazengera Primary School Ground in Lilongwe Sunday, where he had accompanied President Dr Joyce Banda and her running mate Sosten Gwengwe to a mass development rally.
Mussa advised those spreading the rumors to get facts straight and do thorough investigations before spreading such false rumors.
“There can only be one running mate and it is the President who has the power to choose who the running mate should be and if you love your president like I do, you support the decision made,” he said.
Mussa further clarified that his silence, which apparently sparked the rumor, was due to a development errand to London, UK on which President Banda had sent him to do some official duties.
He has since vowed full support to the People’s Party presidential candidate Dr Joyce Banda and Gwengwe, her running mate, to prove the critics wrong.
