PP’s Secretary Kenneth Msonda says Ngwira’s firing was democratic

The most nose diving recent past ruling Peoples Party (PP) Secretary General Ibrahim Matola has written a termination letter to northern Region Provincial Chair, Reverend Mzomera Ngwira.

Ngwira has championed endorsement of former Vice President Khumbo Kachali as PP President while accusing PP President Joyce Banda of deserting the party.

 

“I regret to inform you that you have been expelled as a Provincial Chairman and party member with immediate effect.” reads the letter in part.

“Your behavior when Senior party members came to address a meeting in the north on preparations for our party founder and President HE Dr. Joyce Banda’s home coming is a serious misconduct to bring confusion in the party.”

PP has since asked Ngwira to hand over all party material.

“Please hand over party materials, vehicles and any other property in your possession to the Provincial Secretary within seven (7) days from date of this letter.”

 

But in a telephone interview, PP SG Ibrahim Matola confirmed to have written Ngwira informing him about the firing from the party.

 

PP Publicity secretary Ken Msonda backed the firing saying it was in line with democracy. “Yes even in church they do fire all those who are not disciplined,” Said Msonda.

 

Since PP shameful loss a lot of senior party executive members have deserted the party with some joining MCP and others joining ruling party DPP.
