LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Sports fraternity in Mchinji witnessed another fierce battle between rivals Villa FC and Mchinji Boma Strikers FC in Chipiku Premier Division League at Mchinji Community ground on Sunday 7th August, 2022.

Mchinji Boma Strikers FC were on the revenge mission as they lost the first game in the first round by a goal to nil, which was scored by James Nana Jafari on Sunday, May 8, 2022.

However their mission ended in tears as skillful and energetic Villa FC claimed another 1-0 victory, scored by defender Isaac Petro who connected a rebound from James Nana Jafari’s shot which was blocked by Mchinji boma at 20th minute in the first half.

Villa FC hard lions share in terms of ball possession, chance creation and goal attempts in this half than Mchinji Boma Strikers FC who struggled to break through Villa FC midfield of James Phiri and Jafari Nana.

After the goal, Villa FC increased the tempo of the game as they played exciting and entertaining game to the satisfaction of crowds which fully covered Mchinji Community Ground, drawing from Robert villages,Nyamawende,Mapira,Mtondo,Nyamayaphwisa,Madzimayera,Maula,Zandana among notable villages.

Mchinji Boma kept pushing to equalize and win the match to revenge what happened in May,but it wasn’t to be as Villa FC contained the pressure to defend their narrow lead.

Second half both sides displayed beautiful football with Issac Petro,James Phiri,Stephano George, Nana Jafari, Junior Mbewe and goalie Bright Salima for Villa FC being marvel to watch as they exchanged good passes and made good saves respectively.

Mchinji Boma Strikers FC depended on Stevie Samalani,Jack Toure and Safari Mwale though their effort to sneak victory from youthful Villa FC went fruitless.Despite the victory Villa FC Stephano George was red carded at 70th minute for exchanging words with the referee Chipiliro Phiri.

The win for Villa means they have defeated Mchinji Boma Strikers FC twice this year in the rejuvenated Mchinji derby in Chipiku Premier Division League.

Villa FC have managed to collect 18 points from 11 games they have played and occupying second position in Chipiku Premier Division League Group C while leaders Airborne Rangers FC have 27 points from 9 games.
