LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Standard Bank UNAYO Division one league in the central region has reached its climax as teams battle for the final round spot.
However Kasungu based outfit Santhe ADMARC FC cling on the summit of group B with 13 points from 5 games they have played so far after defeating Blue Eagles RSV FC 1-2 away at Nankhaka Stadium over the weekend.
Santhe scored in the early minutes of the first half through Chikumbutso Sabilika at 9th and Kelvin Tongozala at 11th minute respectively.
Blue Eagles RSV who are sitting on position 5 in group B, pulled one back through substitute Stanley Thowela.
The area 30 outfit have one game to wind up the first set of the second round against Obings Pirates FC at Chimwala ground.
Ackim Kazombo, Blue Eagles RSV, coach said his charges failed to utilize chances they created hence got punished, He however vowed to qualify to the final round of the league.
Blue Eagles RSV were last week stripped off three points that they got from a 3-1 victory over Amboya FC for fielding an ineligible player Steven Msiska.
His counterpart, McDonald Matenje, for Santhe ADMARC FC was delighted for the victory saying their goal of qualifying into the premier division is slowly being achieved.
Matenje has however warned his boys against complacency ahead of their final games.
Amboya FC are on position 2 in group B with 8 points, Kasiya Hungry Tigers FC sits on position 3 with 6 points after 4 games,Obings Pirates FC are on position 4 with 4 points from 4 games.
Anchoring group B are Kamba FC who have 3 points from 4 games.
In group A Balang’ombe Real Bombers have finished their games with 7 points on summit but the team tied on 7 points with Nsaru United FC who have played 4 games and they sits on second position due to goal inferiority.
Lizulu Super Stars FC are on position 3 with 7 points as they have also played 4 games.
Zaithwa FC have 6 points from 5 games on position 4.
Make Sure Pirates FC have 5 points on position 5 from 4 games while Hope Academy FC have 4 points from 4 games on position 6.
The top three teams from the two groups will qualify to the final round of the league.
The teams will play each other home and away with the top team crowned champions and quality to the premier division league.
Here are the last fixtures of the second round in week 6; Saturday, November 19, 2022, Hope Academy host Nsaru United FC at Nyasa ground while Obings Pirates FC entertain Blue Eagles RSV FC at Chimwala ground.
On Sunday, November 20, Kamba FC host Kasiya Hungry Tigers FC at Kaliyeka ground while Lizulu Super Stars FC invites Make Sure Pirates FC at Mlanda ground in Ntcheu.
