BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Celebrated movie producer, Shemu Joyah has declared his interest for the next heir to throne of the film industry.
Joyah is hoping to wrestle away leadership of the film association of Malawi from Ezaius Mkandawire in polls slated for June, 2020 in Lilongwe.
Joyah who has three award winning movies to his credit told Maravi Post that is vying for the post to improve the movie industry in Malawi.
Mkandawire who is seeking another term to lead the industry said they are hoping that everything will normalise by then.
“Let’s hope everything will be normal by then and also we will seek guidance from the government and copyright society of Malawi,” he said
Mkandawire further said that all positions are vacant starting from committee members to president.
“There was an improvement of membership,”said Mkandawire.
The elections which where expected to be held last month but where rescheduled to June 5,2020 due to Covid-19.
