Standard Bank has challenged Flames coach Ernest Mtawali and his backroom staff to use the bank’s Knock-Out Cup which launches today, to prepare players for national team duties.
Confirming return of the Knock-Out Cup, Marketing Manager Brian Mungomo said the cup has come at an opportune time as the Flames gear up for international tournaments under a new coaching panel.
“The return of the Cup is a statement of our commitment to develop football in Malawi and take the game and its players to greater heights. It is also our sincere hope that clubs and FAM will take advantage of the tournament to prepare for National Team duties under the new coaching panel led by Ernest Mtawali,” he said.
He promised the bank’s customers and soccer fans alike to look forward to an exciting tournament expected to be loaded with surprises.
“We wish to confirm that this year’s Standard Bank Knock-Out Cup is going to happen. The 2015 tournament is special as it marks the 9th edition of the Cup. It will be a stepping stone to the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of our football sponsorship,” said Mungomo.
